I was born in 1991 in the Spruce Pine hospital. My grandpa worked the mines here for 50 years, and I live in the house he built on Altapass. Now I work second shift in Environmental Services at that same hospital, where I see how county decisions affect patients and workers just trying to get through the day.
Why I'm Running.
Mitchell County is facing real challenges: stagnant pay for public employees, layoffs that threaten whether people can stay here, fewer places to buy groceries after Hurricane Helene, and constant strain on our hospital and emergency services.Too often, local leaders stay silent when state and national decisions make these local problems harder to solve. As we think about the future we can build together, I want leadership that will fight for resources, push back when necessary, and make sure the county works for working people.
